Is any leadership shelf complete without at least one book by the fabulous Brené Brown? Probably not. Dare to Lead applies Brown’s research on courage, vulnerability, shame, empathy, and trust to organizational leadership, with particular attention to difficult conversations, curiosity, and developing people rather than relying on status or control.
This is not a Christian book, but it is thoughtful and grounded in Brown’s research and experience as a social worker. She is also one of those voices worth knowing if you want to understand what people are reading and discussing in the leadership space. I appreciate the way she explores courage, vulnerability, trust, empathy, and hard conversations because those themes show up in real leadership whether we are ready for them or not.
